Family Systems Therapy

Family Systems Therapy is a well developed theory that is the under pinning of the family therapy offered at the Center for Family Therapy.  It recognizes that families operate in patterns of behavior, thinking and feeling that are generally consistent.  Members of families also become accustomed to roles in the family that remain consistent.  When these patterns are successful in bringing self actualization to individuals and the family as a whole, families experience joy and satisfaction.

Sometimes family patterns constrict individual’s growth and family growth.  Family Systems Therapy helps families step back and observe the patterns and the roles and can then decide to make changes.  Therapists help in this process.
